Rogye Marshland in Rogye County and Hongyuan County, Aba Tibetan & Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province: Jewel of the Plateau

In the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, 3,400 meters to 3,600 meters above sea level, lies what is acclaimed by international wetland protection experts to be ''the world's largest, most primitive and best preserved wetland on plateau, without any human devastation Rogye''. Straddling Sichuan and Gansu province, and covering a total area of almost one million hectares, this wetland includes the Shamen, Rogye, Mandraktang, Sibcho and Garhe nature reserves. Typical of the wetland ecosystem in high and cold areas, it is a major base for preserving the fauna and flora systems and ecological diversity of the Tibetan-Himalayan area. It is home to some 900 black-headed gulls, birds under first-grade State protection and the only species that reproduce on highlands and, spend summers here.
The Mandraktang Wetland plays an essential role in preserving the water system on the upper reaches of the Yellow River. The First Bend of the Yellow River at Dangkhe looks tranquil and peaceful, silently gathering strength for it's over 5,000 kilometers long journey to the east.

April and May.

Bring warm clothes with you because weather is change to cold at night in grassland.
Please take sunbonnet, sunglass, and suntan oil, raincoat, in summer.
Avoid getting AMS. Be sure to respect local customs and traditions.
The best way is hire car to Rogye Marshland.
After permitting, you can visit the herdsman's family.
Be careful Tibetan Mastiff.
Notice safe because there are many hidden-pond and wetland.
You must light needfire when you sleep tent on grassland at night.
