At present, 13,465 people are rescued from the ruins according to News Sichuan. Since the world famous tourist destinations--Jiuzhaigou scenic spot and Wolong Giant Panda Base--are located in Sichuan Province, the transfer of tourists stranded in the disaster areas has become the focus of media attention. Zhang Gu, Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Tourism Bureau, said that 232 tour groups and a total of 4,557 tourists have been successfully out of danger by 17:00 on May15,all overseas tourists in Jiuzhaigou were transported by plane.
