Haijiao Pavilion was built at the reign of Jingde year in Northern Song Dynasty (1004 to 1007) in commemoration of Meng Chang, Minister Superintendent of Hepu County during Han Dynasty.
The Haijiao Pavilion has two entrances. The first entrance is the gate tower. The center of the gate tower is the great-circle arched gate and both sides are the side gates. The second entrance is the main body of the pavilion construction.
It has red wall, colored green glazed tile and is a magnificently decorated building. The pavilion is in square shape where the front and rear port is interlinked. The windows on left and right face each other with winding corridor located all around where there are inscriptions of each type of zoology and botany design and the historical story character.
