Chen Clan Temple [Guangzhou]

It was built with the money contributed by the Chen families in 72 counties of Guangdong Province in Qing Dynasty, and was used to enshrine their ancestors, but it was changed into a learning academy later. Chen Clan Temple is famous all over the world, not only for its beautiful structure covering more than 10,000 m3, but also for its decorating materials made of carved woods, bricks, pottery and cast copper and iron, which blend harmoniously with the magnificent building. It is a collection of all kinds of Lingnan arts. As early as in the twenties, Chen Clan Temple was recorded as one of the world representative buildings by the international scholars.
