Guangzhou located on the eastern coast of Guangdong Province, has strong historic background blended with legends and myths. This city as also known as Sui or corn ear and was popular as the City of Goats. Locals believe that when King Yi of the Zhou Dynasty ruled in the 10th century B.C., five celestial beings from the South Seas arrived at Guangzhou or the Coty of Goats. Colorfully decked in gaudy clothes, they rode on the back of five goats, each with different colors. After arrival, they gifted a six-eared rice stalk to the locals of the city and blessed them with prosperity as intense as " Never any famine from now on!". Soon after they disappeared laving the goats turned into stone structures. From this legend, City of Guangzhou derived the names- Sui and the City of Goats.
