It was built in Hongwu times of the Ming Dynasty. It was said that, in order to harness the dragon range of the Yuexiu Hill, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang directed to build this building of five-story, whose eaves were decorated with famous three-colour glazed fish produced in Shiwan of Foshan, the outer wall decorated with red bricks and green tiles. Especially, a pair of lions made of red sand rock in front of the building is glossy, which are the fine arts of Lingnan. The building also serves as Guangzhou Museum, showing you Guangzhou's history of more than 2000 years.
