Nanhu National Tourist Holiday Resort [Guangzhou]

Nanhu Amusement Park lies in Tonghe Town in north suburb of Guangzhou, with beautiful scenes, pleasant climate and mountains and lakes nearby. Since 70s, it has been appointed as the place of conference and rest for Party leaders. National leaders meet foreign officials here; Ye Jianying Marshal and Deng Xiaoping made important national plans here. Then, it was turned into national tourist resort, which is gradually enlarged.

Nanhu Amusement Park is a large-scale modern amusement place with over 40 entertainment programs, which are imported from Europe, America and Japan. The superior modern buildings, beautiful natural scenes and reasonably allocated gardens make the resort a harmonious picture.

The amusement programs are different in Nanhu Amusement Park from those in other existing amusement parks, like thunderbolt dance, crazy roller coaster and riptide surf, in which tourists can acquire pleasant joys besides excitements. 'Dreamy castle' is the wonderland for kids, where the rampart and blockhouse remind people of the palace in ancient Greece. There are loyal, funny and big soldiers guarding the gate, into which kids can spend their day playing at their will. Adults can go for a walk in 'space journey'—an 'artificial spaceship'. Tourists can enjoy the different and exotic space views when they fasten the seat belt and start with the countdown order. Tourists can see shining stars fleeing in front of their eyes. There are also videotapes the American spaceship has taken from outer space, in which there are shots of a bird-view of earth, with faint images of Great Wall and Pyramids in Egypt.

'Rainbow flyover' is a huge swing boat with a capacity of 40-50 people, connected at the lower end of the 30-m-long pendulum arm. There is a smiling sun face in the middle of the pendulum arm. There is a colorful rainbow across which the boat flies. People who have enjoyed the game all say that the amazing part is in the air and the joy lies in the danger. When the machine starts, flowers, trees, pavilions and alleys rise and fall in front of you eyes, which make strange tourists smile to each other. The pendulum speed gets faster and faster from 40 degree, 60 degree to 85 degree. Suddenly, the boats is pushed upward as high as 30 m in the air. When tourists are still appalled by the up pushing, the boat slides downward like out of control. The twice 360-degree whirls make the adventure takers dizzy, which takes a long time to pacify.

The first national 360 degree full-scene movie theatre lies among the bushes, which takes the form of a Mongolian tent. It covers an area of 300 m2, entertaining 300 audiences. Tourists can be personally on the scene with the specially prepared movies.

Cuisine World lies in the lakeside, which is spatial, pleasant and comfortable with remote music sounds. Tourists can take a rest from the previous excitement and have a taste of tea and delicious dishes.

There is also a characteristic Erdos tent on the lakeside. When you take a horse-ride on the green field, you can leave the urban noise and worries behind. When tourists walk into the tent, two girls in Mongolian dress will serve you milk tea. Then, they will sing toast songs with the company of Matouqing (a bowed stringed instrument with a scroll carved like a horse's head). According to Mongolian traditions, guests must drink up the cup to express sincere gratitude.

There are a great amount of precious orchids in 'Zhongxiang Garden' like noble dendrobium orchid, Faber cymbidium, crane orchid and butterfly orchid. Wenxin orchid, also named 'dancing girl orchid' looks like a dancing girl with yellow dress and red hat. There’re also over 100 bonsais in 'Zhongxiang Garden' with their unique styles.

The skating rink looks like a crown, with an area of 800 m2, which can entertain 500 tourists. With the rhythmic disco music, tourists can show their excellent skills and have a great time.

When sun sets, tourists can take a stroll in the corridor along the lake, and have a view of the scene 'round setting sun in Nanhu' in the night breeze. In the early evening, the large variety show goes on the central stage, which makes tourists too excited to leave the park.
