It was a residence of the king family of the Southern Yue 2000 years ago. With the earliest preach of Buddhist into Guangzhou, it became the first temple of Lingnan. There is an oldest, biggest and most intact iron tower of China. The most famous thing of the Temple is that Hui Neng, the 6th Zen Patriarch, became the founder of the Southern School of Chinese Buddhism. Now, all believers of the Zen Buddhist sect throughout China are Hui Neng's followers.
