Clear Water Pond [Changsha]

It is located on the northeastern part of Changsha city. There is a brick and wood construction in the front gate with two ponds next to it, the upper pond water chaotic and the lower pond water clear. The water flows from the top to the bottom of the pond and became limpid, hence the name. In October, 1921, Chinese Communist Party Hunan branch was established; after which the Chinese Communist Party Hunan district committee was established. They appointed Mao Zedong as secretary who rented this house as the party of the underground institution. The Hunan committee former site was well preserved and the present buildings include the memorial hall. It keeps mainly cultural relic material about the revolutionized facts and the workers and peasants’ revolution movement.
