Gutian Mountain National Natural Reserve [Quzhou]

Gutian Mountain National Natural Reserve belongs to forest ecological reserve, located in churchyard of Suzhuang, Kaihua County, Quzhou. It covers an area of 81.07 square kilometers, distributes typical original natural secondary central subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, which is an ideal place of inhabitation of creatures.

There are higher plant 244 sections, 897 categories and 1,999 species, among which there is 32 species precious and in severe danger plants, especially a large scale of Henry emmenopherys, Skinner Michelia and stewartia, etc. scarce plant flora which is rare in nation; there are 34 species creature under State protection and 32 species creature under province protection. There is “Yuan fir”, “Tang crypress”, “Wuyue ancient camphor”, etc. valuable ancient trees and famous timber, in legend which is planted by Zhu Yuanzhang and “Wuyue ancient camphor” is called “the King of Trees in Zhejiang”. There are lots of legends about “Three Monsters in Gutian” in natural reserve and it’s an ideal place of summering and holiday.

Take coach in downtown of Quzhou to Kaihua County(there is speed coach and slow coach, the fare is 16 RMB and it will take you two hours and a half to get there); and then take minibus at Kaihua to Gutian.
