Beining Park [Tianjin]

The Beining Park lies in the northeast in Hebei District.Its main entrance faces the Northern Railway Station Interchange. Its eastern gate faces Zhong Shan North Road and the northern faces Yu Hong Road which is on the Central Circle Route.

The park was first built in Guangxu 32 , in 1906. with the area of 48613.3 square meters. It used to be a plantation in the late 19th century. In Guangxu 33,1907, a more than 10 hectares lake was dug out in the Beining Park.

There are several wooden bridges over the lake which connect with each other. Around the lake are some hills with pavilions and traditional Chinese buildings.What's more, the water of the lake can be　exchange with Jinzhong River and Yueya River. Owning to the regular idyllic atmosphere. There are many kinds of plants including Kapok blossom,sunflowers,chrysanthemum and lotus flowers in the northeast, water lotus in the lake and vegetables and growing near the cottages.

The Park was bought and rebuilt in 1931 by the Beining Railway Bureau. In the Culture Revolution the park was called "Two Seven Park"until 1976. One third of the whole square park is taken by water. There are some facilities such as Spring Hotel, ChangGuan Hotel,the Chinese Rose Garden;ZhiYuan Pagoda and a big funfair. Also there is a district,Ligong Ci Pavidion and a pair of stone lions built in Jin Dynasty.

Nowadays,the Beining Park is regarded as one of the biggest parks in Tianjin.
