Daimiao Temple [Tai an]

Daimiao Temple, or Temple of the God of Mt.Tai, was the place where emperors of the past dynasties held sacrificial ceremonies to Mount Tai, built a very long time ago.
After repeated enlargement and reconstruction during the successive dynasties, it has become a composite of ancient buildings with an immense scale, covering a total area of 96439 square meters, with the Hall of Heavenly Blessing as its principal structure. Ancient cypresses and gingo trees soar to the sky and there is a forest of stone tablets with inscriptions carved on them during the various dynasties. The ancient buildings in the temple are specimens of an architectural art at a very high level and of a unique national style.
