Shaohu is located in the northwest of Huai’an City, on the shore of the river. It looks like a spoon, so it got its name. It is a famous lake of Huai area. Many temples are built in the back yard of Jin Dynasty. In the past, Shaohu is famous for ten scenic spots, and later Shaohu Garden was built. Li’e has very high appraisement to Shaohu in his famous book 'Laocan Traveling'.

Shaohu Garden, green water, long bridge, painting boat, booth, stele garden and Wentong Pagoda stands on the shore. It has a long history, where is the original Buddhism holy land of Jianghuai area. It has lots of relics and 'Wentong Tower', 'Stele Garden' and 'Shaohu Grass Hall' are protected there. Wentong Pagoda situates in the garden with a history of 1290 years, which is one of the signs of the culture and history of Huai’an City.
