It lies in the southeast part of Changchun, 9.5kms far from the city center, covering an area of 183 square kilometers. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains, green-colored by numerous tall trees, which are rich in kinds such as pine and maple. The large area together with the short distance from the city center is rarely seen in Asia, so it is called 'green pearl' by visitors home and abroad. It was authorized as the key place of interests by State Department in 1988. A year later, it became a national forest park. It earned the honor of 'AAAA' given by the country in 2000. In the following year, it was authorized as national standard scenery district. It also became a testing unit of environment protection of ecological travel. There are five parts: mountain scenery to the north of pond, forest to the south of pond, water display of yuetan, villages to the east of pond and ancient graves. The main scenic spots are: forest bath playground, skiing playground, reservoir dam, Jingyue tower, north Putuo temple, stone sheep and tiger mountain, beach bath place, arboretum, deer village, deer ginseng garden, golf court and so on. Its splendid characteristic of scenery makes it become a clear place out of the noisy city and it’s undoubtedly the best place for visitors to enjoy the freshness in spring, prevent sunstroke in summer, appreciate red leaf in autumn and feel the excitement of white snow in winter.
