Jinshi Yuan Park [Dalian]

Legend has it that about 10 years ago, during the construction of a hotel, gold colored rocks of striking shapes were unearthed. After years of careful excavation, the planned hotel was replaced by Jinshi Yuan Park, a forest of 20-meter-high rocks. The uniquely shaped rocks are often described as imaginative sculptures of nature. Also nicknamed as a "Natural Geological Museum" and a "Concrete Animal World", the park's rocks were formed by erosion 600-million years ago, the same age during which the dinosaurs once lived.
