Temple of Jade Buddha [Anshan]

The Temple of Jade Buddha Scenic Spot covers an area of 40 thousand square meters, and is embraced by three mountains and leaving only one side facing water. Its back is the beautiful East Wind Scenic Spot and is formed by some special buildings with totally different styles, such as Mansion of Jade Buddha, Jade Belt Bridge, Three-hole Door, Lotus Pond and Flower Fruit island, which are harmoniously set and bring out the best in each other. The Three Carvings along the Road have nine dragons which contains the meaning of “Nine dragons welcome the Saint”

Jade Buddha Cabinet, the main building of the Temple of Jade Buddha, is one of the highest classical architectures in China with the height of thirty-three meters which means thirty-three heavens according to Buddhism and the total height is 35.2 meters. Jade Buddha Cabinet, with the width of 66 meters and the depth of 58 meters, has double –level eaves structure with eaves among eaves, which covered with red glazed tile. So it looks magnificent and with clear layers. The 24k gild covered Nine Dragons Protecting Precious Pearl picture caved on the large alga well costs gold 120 Liang (a unit of weight, 32 Liang equals one kilogram) and it looks splendid under the light of colorful lamps. The decorate distribution of Jade Buddha Cabinet is full of strong religion cultural atmosphere. The four lotus lamps with tens of thousands crystal pearls on it, is hanging separately on the four edges of the Alga well and the four lotuses is clear to us. All these four lamps make the place solemn and elegant.

The Jade Buddha sitting in the Cabinet was discovered in Xiuyan County which is China’s jade hometown in1960 and it is caved out of a 7.265 meter high, 6.88 meter wide and 4.1 meter long “Jade King” with its weight of 260.76 ton. The front side of this Buddha is Sakyamuni and its back is the Goddess of Mercy. In November 1997, the Jade Buddha gains the reputation of the best one in the Guinness Record with its big setting, brightness. Therefore, it can be reputed as a miracle in the world.

Because there is a road passing by Jade Buddha Garden from Anshan to Thousand Mountain city, you can take No. 308 bus from the railway station and it will cost you less than thirty minutes to get there.
