Cheng’en Temple was constructed during the Sui Dynasty. It has more than 1,700 years of history. Fable has it that this was the place where Princess Sui Yang lived in seclusion and cured illness.
Daxiong Palace, the clock drum tower and PiLu Buddha, Mile Stone Buddha as well as Millions tones Copper Clock and so on were constructed during the Ming Dynasty time. According to the brief history of Xiangfan, YingZong carries out the restoration of this temple during the Tianshun year in repayment to his uncle and changed the name to 'Yongle Mountain' and the name of the temple to 'Great Cheng’en Temple'.
