I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March 2007 and cannot complain, especially not for the cheap price.Advantages:- friendly and helpful staff with good language skills- acess to underground station within 10 minutes of walking time- breakfast to die for. Quantity and quality of food better than in many 5 star hotels.- nice reception area, well equipped roomsdisadvatages:- furniture in room a bit worn out- far from city center; as mentioned, underground is nearby and taxis are so cheap but if you do not want to lose time in traffic, you should choose a hotel in a better location. All in all, I do not regret having stayed there and would recommend it to others. Beijing is one of the most fascinating places have ever been to. The city is unbelievably huge and offers so much culture and entertainment. Visiting the Forbidden City, the great wall or the Summer palace is an experience for a life-time. In addition, I found the modern architecture stunning, especially at Chang-An boulevard.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights as part of a group tour. The hotel is quite modern with a light airy lobby and nice restaurants. The room was nicely decorated, very comfortable, very clean but it was very warm in the room and the aircon did not make much difference. For a hotel in a major city the costs of food and drink was very cheap by Western standards, and quality was very good. The hotel is a long way out of the city centre and there is not much to do outside. Very little English was spoken and eating out in a local restaurant could be a problem.Overall the hotel was much better than i expected.

The Park Plaza was a great hotel -- room was superb, service was wonderful, staff was friendly and competent. The hotel is a bit far out for sightseeing, but Beijing is a huge city so I suppose this was a good compromise. It was in a nice neighborhood with resturants, shops and grocers handy. Cab ride from temple of heaven was 90 yuan and took about 20 minutes for example. I would stay there again though if I were in Beijing.

Our son joined a summer camp located in Haidian area, so we decided to move from Holiday Inn Central Plaza to Park Plaza Beijing Science Park Hotel to be closer to him, as we're also tired of the inconvenient location of the former hotel. We were able to get a good last-min. rate (free internet but without breakfast) from "elong", the sister web-site of "expedia".The hotel is in a convenient location for us: 5 min. walk from Metro station & Walmart, and the bus station is right in front of the hotel. We could easily take a bus (?1) or taxi (?10) to visit our son at his summer camp, which is very close to the famous Zhongguancun Plaza Shopping Mall. We bought a Beijing map and were able to go to anywhere by bus from there.Haidian is a university area, and visits to the book store "Disanji" (the largest in Beijing) & electronics stores there are highly recommended. A walk around the neighbourhood was nice & relaxing.

Stayed at this Hotel on the Club Floor since I had meetings in the same area.Nice Hotel, good rooms, Internet, restuarants and bar.NOTE : this is NOT the Park Plaza Wangfujing! The Hotel recently changed hands (half the stuff still had the old hotel name on it) . The staff must have forgotten that they are now supposed to be working for a good hotel!Breakfast was a Zoo, checkout took 40 mins.Won't be going back there!

I stayed at the hotel as a guest of the university closeby for 28 days. The hotel is booked by many tourist groups from UK, US and Germany as far as by individuals from all over the world mainly from Asia. The athmosphere in the hotel is perfect, you feel like in conference hotels in US. The lobby is large, great and open to the sky. Most of the people working in the hotel are skilled to speak english, and for their task this works quite well. The hotel is rated as a four-star hotel, and overall i will agree with this. From my personal point of view the rooms are clean and well furnished, but the state and the size is between 3 and 4-star. The breakfast is quite good, you have the choice between european (h?rnchen, baguette, marmelade, k?se, wurst, margarine), continental (eggs, bacon etc., vegetables) and chinese (soup with increments etc. etc.), several kinds of fruits etc. and yoghurt. in the breakfast rooms douzands of young womens will help you for everything where from my point of view no help is needed.i can not say something about the restaurants, because i haven't been there. my chinese friends told me, that these restaurants are really 4-star restaurants, from my point of view this may be the case, the prices are really 4-5-star prices and the equipment looks perfect.on the other side there are (especially on the left side of the street) other good restaurants with cheaper prices (and bmw cars outside wainting for their owners).the fitness room is a weak point. not so much people use it and really, the material is old and the trainers are not really interested in something but more in watching the parallel running tv.the prices seems to be ok, i remark that the official prices starts with 1200 yuan, in the net it seems to be possible to get rates about 800 yuan. for this location (on the left 100 mtr. chinese supermarket, on the rights 30 mtr. 24hours atm-machine, 400 mtr. subway-station, 500 mtr. wal-mart-supermarket) it seems to be a great offer. try to get a room to the inner side, looking to 'student' dormitories, which is a) guite nicer and more calm than the other side. the athmosphere in the surrounding is very good. most of the people on the street are students from the buaa, well-dressed, young andoptimistic, also the shops are related to these clients.due to the fact that also the taxi prices are acceptable (1.2 ? going to tchingua univ., 1.8 ? going to beijing zoo, 3 ? going to forbidden city) are quiete convinient, this hotel is an alternative to all the hotels in the city with darf athmosphere and higher prices.have a nice stay in beijing (but avoid august)

We have spent 2 weeks in Tianhong Plaza. It was a mixed business/leisure trip. Good thing in this hotel is a breakfast. Excellent coffee and a lot of fruits. Staff is polite and speak some English. However we do not recommend to use interner facilities in rooms of this hotel - when we pluged our laptop into the ethernet socket (as it was described in their manual for internet users) it was instantantaneously virused and finally we have lost all programmes and information. Latest BT/yahoo antivirus did not work with fresh Chinese viruses. Also avoid Japanese buffet restaraunt - it is overpriced and staff is stupid. Waitress in this "buffet" restaraunt all the time suggested that we should not take a lot of food and tried to feed us by boiled rice. Drinks are not free and very expensive there. Business facilities in Tianghong Plaza are dodgy and overpriced. Printing one page costs 1.5 USD. Sauna that is included in the room price is just a camouflage; temperature is not going over 65 C there; jacuzzi is not working. Gym is functional but is placed in the coridor. Rooms are not brilliantly clean with some tabacco smell.

I Stayed at this hotel for 9 days. For someone who doesn't speak any Chinese, it still fit the bill. The staff spoke enough English for any of my needs. I was working 10 miles away but I was able to take the subway to my destination. The station was a 5 minute walk and connected to all points downtown for any sight seeing. Staff was very friendly, the food in the restaraunts was good. The complementery breakfast was great. They have european breakfast as well as american and chinese breakfasts. The internet connection was free and there is a small quick mart built onto the outside of the hotel. This is where I could get any snacks or drinks(including beer wine and Johnny Walker) at Chinese prices. The mini bar was at US Mini bar prices. Why pay three dollars a beer when you can get three beers for a dollar just outside? If you don't speak any chinese like me, you are pretty much confined to the hotel for eating unless you get the hamburger blues. There is a Mcdonalds about 10 minutes walk past the subway station. There is also a Walmart next to the subway station if you need any goods of that type. There is a bank next door with 4 cash machines where I was able to obtain cash with my US cash card. If you speak any chinese, you can take the subway to the end of the line towards downtown (3 stops) and on a Saturday morning there are tour busses that do an day trip to both the Ming tombs and the Great wall for around $30 USD (Bargan). All in all it was a very good stay.
