Shanghai Peace Hotel

The Peace Hotel comprises two buildings, the North and South Building, and is situated in the historical district of the Bund. The North building was built in 1929 in Chicago Gothic-style, and the South building in 1906 in European Renaissance-style. Revolving doors lead to the white Italian marble floors of the lobby which has crystal chandeliers. Its original decor has been retained throughout the years and modern technology has been introduced to provide additional convenience. Wireless and high-speed Internet are available throughout the hotel. A gift shop located in the lobby area offers Chinese antiques, jade jewellery, and Chinese Qipaos (traditional dress). On the mezzanine level is a book shop which sells books and photos of Shanghai and China. A well-equipped fitness centre provides recreation. For 'shopaholics', Nanjing Road is just outside the revolving doors. Unsurpassed panoramic views of the Bund and Huanpu River are found in the roof-top garden.
The 363 guestrooms of the Peace Hotel all have classic Western decor and are spread across two buildings. Amenities include high-speed Internet, satellite TVs with premium channels, and marble bathrooms with telephones.
